Advanced Data Shaping with Power BI is an instructor-led, hands-on workshop that provides 300-level experience for BI Developers and Business Analysts as they continue their journey to Power BI superstardom. This workshop builds upon the foundational concepts covered in the Dashboard in a Day event with a deeper focus on Power BI Desktop’s Power Query engine in order to properly import, clean, and prepare data for modeling and visualizations.
Course objectives include:
- Understand the Power BI Desktop data model, its components, and its most effective schemas
- Gain an understanding of the Power Query M language
- Import data from a variety of sources
- Create queries using toolbar navigations and Advanced Editor
- Understand parameters
- Organize queries using folders
Who Should Attend
This workshop is designed for advanced Power BI users who have already taken and completed a Dashboard in a Day event. The event is technical in nature and core Power BI knowledge will be assumed. All attendees should bring their own laptop and have the latest version of Power BI Desktop installed.
